About me

A Home Cook Behind Home Culinary Crafts

Hello, fellow food enthusiasts! I’m Riya, a South Indian homemaker and home cook with a deep love for Indian cooking, especially Kerala-style cooking.

My cooking journey began at home, watching and learning from my mother. Her everyday meals introduced me to the flavors and techniques that are at the heart of Kerala home cooking — balanced spices, fresh ingredients, and traditional methods passed down through generations.

Growing up in a South Indian household, I learned that good cooking comes from more than simply following a written recipe. It comes from observing, practicing, understanding ingredients, and learning through experience.

As a homemaker, I regularly prepare Kerala-style meals for my family using traditional methods adapted to a modern home kitchen. The recipes I share on Home Culinary Crafts come from this hands-on cooking experience.

I personally prepare, test, and refine the recipes before sharing them. I pay attention to measurements, cooking times, texture, flavor, and the practical details that can help another home cook achieve good results.

My focus is on Kerala-style flavors, Indian home cooking, practical techniques, and clear instructions. I want to preserve the simplicity and character of home-style cooking while making these recipes approachable for anyone who wants to prepare them with confidence.

Some recipes are inspired by family traditions and dishes I grew up with, while others have developed through my own experience in the kitchen.

For me, food is more than something we prepare and eat. It connects us to our families, our memories, and the traditions we grew up with.

I hope the recipes on Home Culinary Crafts bring a little of that warmth into your kitchen too.

Happy cooking!

Riya
