Chicken Fingers

Chicken Fingers

Chicken fingers are a beloved snack, especially among kids, and they make a delicious treat during the rainy season. These finger-shaped chicken strips are marinated, coated in breadcrumbs, and then fried to crispy perfection. Not only are they incredibly tasty, but they’re also easy to prepare. Here’s a simple recipe to make these crispy chicken fingers at home.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • Boneless Chicken Strips – 500g

For Marination:

  • Curd – 2 tablespoons
  • Chilli Powder – 1 tablespoon
  • Pepper Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Soya Sauce – 1 teaspoon
  • Tomato Sauce – 2 tablespoons
  • Beaten Egg – 1

For Coating:

  • Corn Flour – 2 tablespoons
  • All-purpose Flour – ¾ cup
  • Bread Slices – 6 (ground to crumbs)
  • Oil – for frying

Method of Preparation

  1. Wash and Clean the Chicken: Begin by washing the boneless chicken pieces thoroughly and cutting them into rectangular strips to resemble finger shapes.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with the ingredients for marination. Add curd, chilli powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste, salt, soya sauce, tomato sauce, and a beaten egg. Mix everything together until the chicken is well coated. Once marinated, place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Prepare the Coating: In a separate bowl, mix together all-purpose flour and corn flour. This flour mixture will give the chicken its crispy coating.
  4. Coat the Chicken: After marination, take each chicken strip and coat it with the flour mixture. Then, dip it into the ground bread crumbs to ensure a crunchy outer layer.
  5. Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a frying pan or kadai over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, gently place the coated chicken strips into the oil. Fry the chicken until it turns golden brown and crispy on the outside. Be sure to fry them in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  6. Serve: Once fried, remove the chicken fingers from the oil and drain any excess oil on paper towels. Serve them hot with a side of tomato ketchup or mayonnaise for dipping.

Enjoy the Crispy Delight!

These crispy chicken fingers are the perfect snack to enjoy during the rainy season or as a tasty starter for any occasion.
