Caramel Bread Pudding with Apple

Caramel Bread Pudding with Apple

This is a simple pudding recipe made with bread, apple, and an egg custard sauce. It is similar to traditional bread pudding but with the added flavor of apple. You can add apples directly to the bread mixture or caramelize them beforehand. In this recipe, I have added small apple cubes directly without caramelizing.

Apple bread pudding is an amazing comfort dessert that you can enjoy at any time of the day. It can be served warm or cold, making it a versatile treat. This easy recipe takes less than 60 minutes in total. The bread crumbs are soaked in a custard sauce along with small pieces of apple, adding extra deliciousness to the pudding.

Choosing the Right Bread

A day-old bread is usually preferred for making bread pudding as it holds its structure better. Previously, I had shared a pineapple bread pudding recipe on my blog, which has slight variations compared to this apple version. The flavor of apple blends beautifully into the custard sauce, and the combination of milk and eggs makes this pudding soft and flavorful.

I usually use milk bread or sweet bread for preparing this dessert. I do not recommend wheat bread as it significantly alters the taste. This recipe serves 4 to 5 people, with a preparation time of 15 minutes and a cooking time of 25 minutes.

Perfect for Any Occasion

This pudding is an easy dessert option for parties and gatherings where large quantities are needed. In our family, we love having sweets after lunch, and bread pudding plays a big role in our meals. You can choose to steam or bake this pudding, depending on your preference. Enjoy this super tasty and homey dessert!

  3. Beat the eggs and add them along with vanilla essence into the milk mixture.
  4. Heat the milk mixture on low flame. Do not boil.

  12. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and poke some holes using a toothpick.
  13. Place the pan in a steamer and cook for 25 minutes or until the pudding detaches from the pan.
